AI reporting for logistics firms.

On-time delivery, margin per lane, open PODs and detention costs pulled from your TMS every morning, with a short note on what went wrong yesterday.

Short answer

For transport and logistics companies, AI reporting pulls shipment, cost and invoice data from your TMS (and from platforms such as Transporeon or your ERP) on a schedule, calculates on-time performance, margin per customer and lane, missing proofs of delivery and waiting time, and sends a short written summary of what changed and which shipments need attention. ORVL builds it from €3,900 excl. VAT with read-only access.

The problem

Why logistics and freight companies look at ai reporting.

Planners and operations managers in logistics live on exceptions: the truck that waited three hours at a DC, the lane that lost money last month, the 40 deliveries without a signed CMR or POD that block invoicing.

The data exists in the TMS, the time-slot platform and the accounting package, but combining it is a weekly spreadsheet job. By the time the margin report is ready, the same loss-making lane has run another ten times.

The workflow

What the agent does, step by step.

CollectNightly data pull

Shipments, statuses, timestamps and costs from the TMS and booking platforms.

MatchCosts to revenue

Subcontractor invoices and fuel surcharges matched to the shipments they belong to.

CheckExceptions

Missing PODs, late statuses and waiting time above your threshold flagged.

WriteMorning summary

Five sentences: on-time %, worst lanes, top waiting locations, invoicing blockers.

AlertSame-day signals

A message to the planner when a customer's on-time rate drops below your line.

Integrations

Systems it works with.

Every TMS exports differently; the Blueprint checks whether yours has an API or only scheduled exports.

TMS (for example Boltrics, Soloplan CarLo or a custom TMS) via API or export
Transporeon or other time-slot platform data
Exact Online, AFAS or Odoo for invoices
eCMR / POD document store
Microsoft Teams or Slack for alerts
Guardrails

Where a human decides.

Reports inform pricing and subcontractor talks, so traceability matters more than polish.

Read-only access to every source system
Each figure links back to the shipment numbers behind it
Margin estimates labelled when cost invoices are still missing
Customer-specific reports only to the people you choose
Measuring it

How you know it works.

Measure: hours spent building the weekly report before and after, days from delivery to invoice, and number of shipments invoiced late because of missing PODs.

Example with assumed numbers: an operations manager spends 6 hours a week assembling performance and margin figures. Automating that frees about 25 hours a month; finding one loss-making lane a quarter earlier may matter more, and the Blueprint sets which target counts.

The example uses assumed numbers to show the method. It is not a client result or a promise.

Honest fit check

When this is not the right build.

If your TMS already has a good BI module that your team actually reads, add the written summary and alerts on top instead of rebuilding the reports.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can it read scanned CMRs?

It can check whether a POD or CMR document exists for each shipment and read key fields from clear scans. Disputed or unreadable documents are flagged for a person.

Do we need to change TMS?

No. The report reads from what you have. If the TMS has no API, we work from scheduled exports.
