The morning numbers for restaurants.

Yesterday's covers, revenue, labour cost and no-shows from your POS, reservation and rostering tools, in one message before the first shift starts.

Short answer

For restaurants and hospitality groups, AI reporting pulls yesterday's sales from the POS (for example Lightspeed or Square), covers and no-shows from the reservation system, hours from the rostering tool and new reviews, then sends each manager a short daily summary: revenue, revenue per cover, labour as a share of sales, no-shows and anything unusual. ORVL builds it from €3,900 excl. VAT.

The problem

Why restaurants and hospitality businesses look at ai reporting.

Restaurant managers make decisions every morning, staffing, ordering, which waiter to talk to, based on gut feel because the numbers are spread over four systems and the report comes at the end of the month.

Multi-site groups feel this most: the owner wants to compare sites daily, but each site exports differently, and the spreadsheet that combines them is always a week behind.

The workflow

What the agent does, step by step.

CollectOvernight pull

POS sales, reservations, roster hours and review platforms.

CalculateDaily KPIs

Covers, spend per cover, labour %, no-show rate, voids and discounts.

CompareAgainst plan

Same day last week, budget and other sites in the group.

WriteManager summary

Four sentences: what was strong, what was off, what to check today.

AlertExceptions

Unusual voids, discounts or a labour spike flagged to the owner.

Integrations

Systems it works with.

POS APIs vary a lot; some only expose daily totals, which shapes what the report can show.

POS (Lightspeed, Square or Toast) API
Reservation system (SevenRooms, Zenchef, OpenTable)
Rostering tool (for example Planday or Deputy)
Google reviews
WhatsApp or Slack for delivery
Guardrails

Where a human decides.

Daily numbers drive staffing decisions, so the report shows its sources and gaps.

Read-only access to POS and rostering
Missing data shown as missing, never estimated silently
Staff-level figures (voids, discounts) only to managers
Review replies drafted, never posted without approval
Measuring it

How you know it works.

Measure: report ready before 08:00 every day, time managers spend compiling numbers, and labour % versus target over the following months.

Example with assumed numbers: a group of four restaurants has each manager spending 30 minutes a morning on numbers, about 40 hours a month across the group. The bigger value is usually spotting a labour or discount problem in days rather than at month-end.

The example uses assumed numbers to show the method. It is not a client result or a promise.

Honest fit check

When this is not the right build.

If you run a single site and your POS dashboard already shows what you need on your phone, a written summary is a nice-to-have, not a priority.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can it include delivery platforms?

If Deliveroo, Talabat or similar data reaches you via export or API, yes. Some platforms only offer manual exports, which we can schedule.

Can it predict covers?

It can show trends and booked covers for the coming days. Forecasts are labelled as estimates.
