Why insurance brokers look at lead follow-up agent.
A quote request is a short window: the prospect has just had a renewal letter or a new contract that requires cover, and is asking two or three intermediaries at once. The adviser who calls back first with the right questions answered usually gets the file.
Advisers spend a surprising part of each quote chasing basic information by email: registration numbers, turnover, claims history, the building's construction year. That is work an agent can do before the adviser picks up the phone.
What the agent does, step by step.
Website form, email or WhatsApp, tagged with the line of cover.
Personal reply confirming who will help and what happens next.
A short, line-specific question set; documents uploaded securely.
Slot with an adviser licensed for that line, in your calendar.
Lead, answers and documents stored in ANVA, your CRM or a shared drive.
Systems it works with.
Broker systems differ by country; in the Netherlands many offices run ANVA, elsewhere a general CRM.
Where a human decides.
Insurance mediation is regulated (AFM and the Wft in the Netherlands, FSMA in Belgium, the Central Bank in the UAE), so the line between service and advice is drawn in the design.
How you know it works.
Measure: time to first reply, share of quote requests complete when the adviser first calls, and quotes issued per adviser per week.
Example with assumed numbers: an office receives 80 quote requests a month and advisers spend 20 minutes per request collecting basics. If the agent collects most of that before the call, about 25 adviser hours a month return to actual advice.
The example uses assumed numbers to show the method. It is not a client result or a promise.
What it costs.
All prices excl. VAT. The fixed quote comes from the AI Blueprint.
When this is not the right build.
If nearly all your business is renewals from long-standing clients, put the effort into renewal reminders and reporting rather than new-lead follow-up.
Common questions.
Does this count as insurance advice?
It is designed not to. The agent collects information and books the call; recommending a product and assessing suitability stay with your licensed advisers. Your compliance officer approves the scripts.
Can it follow up comparison-site leads?
Yes, if those leads reach you by email or API, and only within the consent the prospect gave on that site.
